모든 언어는 마치 살아있는 유기체 같아서 시간이 지나면서 자체적으로 교정이 된다.

   

English is not a subject to memorize, but a skill to practice.

Before I wash my hair, I brush it first. They say it helps to stimulate blood circulation, keeping it healthy.

I then wet my hair thoroughly and apply shampoo from the roots of my hair. Once my hair is fully lathered, I start massaging my scalp gently with my fingertips. I normally massage my head for three minutes in circular motions. Massaging like this really helps to improve circulation in your head.

I then rinse my hair completely using lukewarm water. Then I apply conditioner to my hair and leave it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing. I make sure to rinse my hair out until it starts to squeak.

   

The most basic unit in a sentence is the word. 정확한 의사소통의 열쇠는 긴 문장을 줄줄이 나열하는 것보다는 한두 개의 단어라도 그때의 상황에 가장 잘 맞는 단어를 쓰는 것에 달려있다.

"나는 사원을 뽑기 위해 많은 사람들을 인터뷰합니다. 인터뷰를 하러 오는 사람들이 여러 가지로 장황한 자기 소개를 하는데, 제 인터뷰의 관점은 긴 문장들을 유창하게 말하는 것보다는 한두 개의 단어라도 정확하게 사용하는 능력을 봅니다."

한국말 때문에 나의 영어는 더 짜임새 있고 다양한 고급표현으로 발전하였다. 이제 나에게 한국어와 영어는 모국어와 외국어의 관계가 아니라, 더 완전한 표현과 의사소통을 위해 함께 공존하는 협동 언어체계이다.

한국인이 한국말 사용을 멈추면 사실상의 사고활동이 정지되거나 또는 급격히 축소되는 현상이 일어난다.

• 꼭 한국말로 먼저 하고 기르고 영어로 하라.
• 긴 문장은 한번에 끝내지 말고, 의미가 통한 짧은 문장이나 절로 나누어라.
• 읽기에는 가장 중요한 것은 단어의 액센트와 문장의 억양이다.

  잘 모르는 단어의 액센트는 꼭 찾아서 확인하라.

     

  짧은 글이라도 전체적으로 흐르는 하나의 storyline 문맥을 갖는 글이야 기억에 오래 남음.

  평상시 대화할 때 얼굴에 철판을 깔고 가능한 한 많은 영어를 사용해야 한다. 섞어영어는 참으로 신기한 기적을 낳는다. 하다 보면 점점 더 영어가 많아지고 그 영어단어들이 자연스럽게 문장을 형성하게 된다. 나중에는 아예 한국말의 모든 단어를 영어로 말하려는 강한 충동이 생긴다. 즉, 우리의 모국어에 영어가 깊숙이 뿌리박게 된다는 말이다.

  The native speakers will treat you according to the level of your English, no matter what jobs you used to have back in Korea, or no matter how old you are now.

  At the end of the day, it helped to keep my thoughts in order.

  It also helped to express my emotions and feelings freely.
